Project Description:
InternetNZ is an active member of The Internet Society (ISOC), a non-profit organisation founded in 1992 to provide leadership in Internet related standards, education, and policy.
ISOC is the organisational home for the groups responsible for Internet infrastructure standards, including the Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) and the Internet Architecture Board (IAB).
Keith Davidson and Jordan Carter sit on ISOC's Public Policy Committee.
Project Budget:
$6,000 has been budgeted for the project in 2008/09.
Overall Progress Summary:
InternetNZ continues its membership of and engagement with ISOC. This benefits the Society's technical and public policy work by gaining access to the latest thinking internationally, through ISOC.
Activities Planned for November 2008:
- Monitor ISOC email lists.
- Meet with ISOC staff at ICANN Cairo.
